Karin Williams Quintet Singer Karin Williams (pronounced kah-RIN) has been captivating audiences for over 20 years performing an array of musical styles including jazz, reggae, bossa nova, and samba. Born on the island of Jamaica, where her passion for music was first realized, she spent much of her youth absorbed in the rhythms of the island. After relocating to the United States, she spent many years performing with various bands on the east coast. Her love of music eventually led her to New Orleans, the jazz capital, where she studied music under the guidance of legendary jazz pianist and educator, Ellis Marsalis Jr, and vocalist extraordinaire, Leah Chase. Williams performed on and off for many years here at Snug Harbor in the early 2000-2010s. Karin relocated to Atlanta is recent years to build her own studio and has been educating and producing other artists under her wing, but returns to the stage this year with some of her own new music forthcoming.
